All McClanahan Mandolins come with a lifetime warrenty to the original purchaser
Each McClanahan Mandolin is provided with a lifetime warranty.
As part of the warrenty validation process, but not limited by, each mandolin undergoes the following tasks:
- The Luthier, Jonathan McClanahan, performs a thorough one week hands on evaluation; including being played
- A stress test is performed
- A photo shoot of all wood joints, graduations, ect.
In the event of a warranty claim, the mandolin will undergo an evaluation to determine cause of
the defect in question. The evaluation is to determine whether the defect is a result of the Luthier's building
of the mandolin or neglect on behalf of the owner.
Some forms of neglect include:
- Being left in direct sunlight or in an automobile during summer or winter
- Water damage
- Over tightening the truss rod
The deliberate “aging” of the mandolin, by the Luthier, will not be taken into consideration in the claim evaluation
process; it will not be a determining factor as to whether the mandolin in question will be covered by the warranty.
